Simply pushing or pulling the focus ring allows you to select the mode you desire. This Angénieux design was then purchased by Tokina who had the means to mass produce it.Īmong some of the nice features of this lens is it’s AF and manual focus ability. However it gets even better… the AT-X f2.6-2.8 28-70mm is an aristocratic design that originated with Angénieux. This lens is from Tokina's AT-X series which is their well respected, high end line. It’s quite fast too, so if you want to blur a back-ground or continue shooting when you’re losing your golden hour light, there’s nothing to stop you from capturing the image you want, when you want it. Nope, this is a beautiful lens, with a practical zoom range that can be carried easily. It’s also not a huge or heavy lens that you end up leaving at home because you dread dragging it around all day. In short it’s an 80% lens that can meet the needs of most photographers 80% of the time. It’s a mid-range zoom that offers a near perfect balance of size, speed and reach. It’s fast, it’s sharp, it has a superbly useful focal range and the image quality is wonderful. This is the Tokina AT-X Pro f2.8/28-70mm lens. It’s image quality and build quality is very impressive. With that in mind let me introduce a lovely cult classic lens. We’re also of the opinion that good gear is something to be admired no matter when it was produced. But that doesn’t mean that we’re unaware of current trends and developments. Our specialty is classic prewar cameras and lens from the 1930’s and 40’s.
